The Cleveland championship women’s doubles event brought back glory to ace tennis player Sania Mirza and her US partner Christina Mchale. Both of them defeated opponents Oksana Kalashnikova and Andreea Mitu in the championship on Sunday night. With this win, the Indo-American duo confirmed their seat in the Cleveland championship quarter-finals.

They sealed the match with a 6-3 and 6-2 feat and did not let the opponent hold track of the game. They sealed the first win very easily and thereon sorted their win in the second set as well. The Georgia-Romania pair could not last long in front of the Indo-American fair.

This is a glorifying moment for the ace Indian tennis star after her defeat in the Olympics game and failure to secure a medal for the country. She was also bowed out of the ATP Masters 1000 Western and Southern Cincinnati Open women’s doubles event earlier last week. She played the match with her Tunisian partner Ons Jabeur but they were defeated by opponents in the first round of the match. Hopes are high now for her feat in the Cleveland championship.
