Bhopal: Citing the sudden surge in infections, the Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday announced to create containment zones. As per the statistics issued by the state health bulletin, 28 new cases were reported on Wednesday. Amongst these, the highest numbers of cases were reported from Damoh followed by 7 cases in Sagar, 3 in Jabalpur, 2 in Bhopal and 1 in Indore.
Speaking about the rising infections, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan asserted stringent surveillance to be adopted by the health department to break the chain. The state Medical Education minister Vishwas Sarang has announced plans to implement a test track and trace strategy to prevent the spread.
In the meanwhile, hospitals across the state are gearing up against the third deploying all essentials required. Additionally, authorities are conducting awareness campaigns about the resources available.
As per MoHFW, the state recorded 7 active cases on Wednesday, which took the tally to 139 while 7, 81,228 recuperated in the state since the inception of the virus.
The state is currently witnessing its toughest monsoon since 1971. A surge in COVID-19 cases has put the state administration in a tough spot.
