New Delhi: India recorded 39,361 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported.The recovery rate at 97.35 per cent accounted for 35,968 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,05,79,106. The daily positivity rate stood at 3.41 per cent, less than 5 per cent.

The active caseload stands at 4,11,189 accounting for 1.31 per cent of the total number of cases. 2,977 active cases were reported in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 416 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,20,967.

The Nation capital, Delhi  permitted cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes to operate at 50 percent capacity. Delhi Metro has also permitted only 50 passengers per coach and no standing passengers allowed. Funerals and weddings gathering capacity have been increased from 50 to 100.

Over 43.51 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, the health ministry said. 18,99,874 beneficiaries have been immunized in the past 24 hours.

 The testing capacity substantially ramped up after ICMR tested 11,54,444 infected samples in the past 24 hours. So far, 45.74 crore samples have been tested across the nation.
