Sports: Taking a trip down the memory lane, World’s Cricket governing body,  International Cricket Council, cherished the day as Sachin Tendulkar had created history on June 29 2007 scoring 15,000 runs in the One-Day International (ODI). Taking to its official handle ICC posted a picture of the master blaster.

The tweet read- “India legend @sachin_rt became the first batsman to reach 15,000 runs in ODIs, and so far, he’s the only one to have achieved the feat.”

In a match against South Africa at Belfast, Sachin took over the field with Rahul Ganguli in the second ODI of the three matches. With a target of  227  India  chose to bat while Sachin made 93 runs in 106 balls with 13 fours and two sixes and hit the remarkable stone of being the first person to score 15,000 runs.

Known as the ‘God of Cricket,’ Sachin Tendulkar debut in Test cricket on November 15 in Pakistan, 1989. In the same year on December 18, he played his first ODI match. He has represented India 200 times in Test Cricket and notched up 15,921 runs. He has a record of playing 462 ODIs, where he scored 18,426 runs.

Tendulkar played his last international test against the West Indies at Mumbai and bid adieu to the Cricket World.
