New Delhi: India reported 37,566 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, which is the lowest rise in the last 3 months. The total cumulative count of infections to 2,99,64,897.

The recovery rate at 96.87 per cent accounted for 56,994 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 2,93,66,601.  The daily positivity rate stood at 2.12%, less than 5% for 22 consecutive days. 

The number of active cases has reduced to 5,52,659 accounting for 1.82 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 20,335 in the last 24 hours which is the lowest trend witnessed. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.31 percent reported 907deaths, taking the cumulative death toll to 3,97,637.

 As per data released by ICMR, 17,68,008 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far ICMR has tested 40,81,39,287 infected samples.

Expressing satisfaction over the vaccination program, PM Modi on Monday said that “vaccines for all, free for all” remains the government’s commitment. 

As per MoHFW, 52,76,457 beneficiaries were vaccinated in the past 24 hours. So far 32,90,29,510 citizens have been immunized against the virus under the national immunization drive. On Monday, India surpassed the US in the number of doses administered.
