Raipur: Fertilizer crises in Chhattisgarh deepens amidst the sowing season. It has been noted that the Government hasn’t received even 50% of the total order placed. 

CM Bhupesh Baghel directed the agriculture department officials to take immediate action to check non-supply of urea and DAP as per quota and to check hoarding.   

 He has asked the chemical fertilizer supplier companies to ensure supply of urea and DAP manure as per the quantity allocated to the State and blacklist hoarders by checking the stock of wholesalers and retailers. The Chief Minister has also directed to immediately transfer urea and DAP manure with all wholesalers to retailers. ‎ 

On CMs direction, the Managing Director and Additional Operator agriculture of Cooperative Marketing Association convened with the IFFCO, IPL, Kribhco, Coromandel and Chambal Fertilizers  in Raipur on June 23. He directed the suppliers to ensure supply of remaining quantity of urea, DAP as per the quota allocated to the State of Chhattisgarh from April to June by 30th June.

As per the government data, Chhattisgarh received only 94,024 MT urea against  2,72,503 MT  that it had ordered. Similarly, only 43% of the DAP was allocated to the state against the  total volume of 2,10,354 MT placed yesterday.

 Officials reported that the allocated quantity of urea for the month of June is 1,31,450 metric tonnes and the companies have so far supplied only 37,420 Metric Tonnes. While the allocated quantity of DAP in June is 80,000 MT, against the demand of 23,268 MT.
