New Delhi: India reported 62,480 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. This took the cumulative count of infections to 2,96,81,959 stated the Union Health Ministry. Meanwhile, India’s new Vaccine Biological E is said to be 90 percent effective against Coronavirus.
The recovery rate at 96.03 percent accounted for 8,89,77 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 2,85,80,647. The daily positivity rate stood at 3.24%, less than 5% for 11 consecutive days.
The number of active cases has reduced to 7,98,656 accounting for 2.68 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 28,084 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.29 per cent reported 1,587 deaths, taking the cumulative death toll to 3,83,490.
