Raipur: CM Bhupesh Baghel, today laid the foundation stone for the construction  of Maa Mahamaya Airport in Ambikapur. A sum of Rs 44 crore has been sanctioned for the project. 

This is in an attempt to fortify air travel across the state, the Baghel government after taking charge of the administration had taken steps to establish well-defined connectivity pan India. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the introduction of airport in Sarguja will not only accelerate the development of Ambikapur, Balrampur, Surajpur, Korea, Jashpur but also expedite development of the entire state. 

During the virtual event held from his residence office, CM sanctioned Rs 324.42 crore to Sarguja and Balrampur for 302 projects planned for the state. Out of this  Rs 247.91 crores will solely be invested in 107 projects across the Sarguja district while the remaining amount will be utilized by Ramanujganj-Balrampur district to complete 195 projects. 

CM Baghel also launched the Ram Van Gaman Tourism Project, under which tourist centres from  Koriya to Sukma will witness a development in their cultural sites. 

Chhattisgarh  managed to combat the virus and streamline its development despite being whipped by the pandemic, the Chhattisgarh state government succeeded in breaking the chain and plunging the COVID-19 curve.
