New Delhi: India reported 70,421 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. This took the cumulative count of infections to 2,94,29,576, stated the Union Health Ministry. According to the bulletin 3,921 virus-Linked deaths recorded, taking the cumulative death toll to  3,74,305.

The recovery rate at 95.43 percent accounted for  1,19,501  recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to  2,81,62,947.

The number of virus-linked active cases has reduced to  9,73,158 accounting for 3.30 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 53,001  in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.27 per cent.

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sought G7’s support for a proposal led by India for a TRIPS waiver on Covid-related technologies. Speaking virtually at the first Outreach Session of the G7 Summit on Saturday, he expressed appreciation for its support during the second Covid wave in India, a government release said.

 ICMR on Sunday tested  14,92,152 infected samples. The cumulative samples tested by ICMR accounted for  37,96,24,626. As per MoHFW, 14,99,771 doses of vaccines were administered across the country in a single day. So far 25,48,49,301 citizens have been immunized against the novel virus under the national immunization drive.
