Hari Chand Jat alias Hari Boxer, a Lawrence Bishnoi aide who was wanted following a firing incident at Bollywood director Rohit Shetty’s house in Mumbai, was detained by the US authorities based on inputs by the Delhi Police Special Cell and Haryana Special Task Force.
Originally identified as Harichand Jat, Hari Boxer was being searched for by the Indian security and intelligence agencies from a long time.
Formalities to bring him to India will be undertaken by CBI.
In the recent past, celebrities like Tushar Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rohit Shetty have been threatened over their links with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
He was reportedly involved in supplying arms to the shooters involved in Tiger Shroff assassination attempts.
Boxer, hailing from Rajasthan played a key role in operating Lawrence Bishnoi’ extortion network from abroad.
He was also involved in a shooting at actor-comedian Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Canada. Earlier in January this year, Boxer claimed responsibility for the firing outside Shetty’s Juhu residence through social media posts
Hari Chand got his nickname after he learnt boxing in Jaipur. He was initially involved in small acts of thefts and murder. He fled to US in 2022 and operated from there.
