What if a temple, two gods and a spinning Earth could fit inside a watch case? Swiss luxury house Jacob & Co has done it with the Shri Ramchandra Limited Edition. Its vivid blue mandala dial holds miniature figures of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman standing beside the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, inaugurated in 2024. Beneath a flying tourbillon, a blue Earth completes a turn every 60 seconds. Only three pieces exist worldwide, and Ethos has listed the watch at ₹4.25 crore.
The watch comes from Jacob & Co’s Astronomia Solar collection and adapts its celestial-inspired design to the Ramayana. More than a luxury accessory, it is a spiritual timekeeping device that takes time telling to another dimension. The religious and architectural references set it apart from a conventional timepiece.
“Housed in a 45.5-mm 18K rose gold case, the timepiece is powered by the hand-wound JCAM42 calibre, comprising 295 components and offering a 48-hour power reserve. The caseback bears a custom ‘Jai Shri Ram’ plate,” shared Jacob and Co.
The 45.5 mm case is made of 18-karat rose gold and paired with a blue alligator leather strap. Inside runs the hand-wound JCAM42 calibre, assembled from 295 components, with a 48-hour power reserve. A custom plate reading “Jai Shri Ram” sits on the caseback. At the centre of the dial, an orange Jacob-cut cubic zirconia stands in for the sun, and the time is read from an off-centred orange fire opal dial.
