Donald Trump delivered his final pitch to voters ahead of the midterm which reports claim was ‘one of the most tone deaf presidential speeches’ heard in years. As Republicans and Democrats were making their final pitch to voters on the eve of Election Day, President Donald Trump opted to forgo the campaign trail and instead focused on his renovations at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Trump in his 20 minute long speech spoke about his vanity projects in Washington. The reflecting pool, the ceremonial arch he wants to build in Washington, and promenade on the Potomac, were pointers Trump delivered in his final scheduled remarks of the 2026 midterm elections, saying Republicans “gave this a very strong shot.”
“I’m just asking everybody to pretend that I’m on the ballot,” the president said, reiterating a frequent theme in his midterm rallies and appearances. He added that “in a way, I am” because if Republicans lose, his legislative accomplishments could be “wiped out.””If our people vote, we win in a landslide,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court rejected the Trump administration’s bid to set aside 20,000 California ballots.
Last week, U.S. District Judge Trina Thompson ruled that the Justice Department’s efforts to get officials in California and elsewhere to comply with its pre-Election Day demands — and its repeated threats to prosecute those who don’t comply — likely violated the Voting Rights Act’s prohibition on attempting to intimidate, threaten or coerce” people who help others vote. The ruling, which was set to last until Nov. 16, came as part of a lawsuit filed by several labor unions and civil rights groups.
The balance of power in Washington, D.C., could be tipped by a handful of Senate seats
