Nitesh Tiwari’s eagerly awaited film Ramayana Part One is already seeing another increase in bookings in advance for its global launches. In the new passion for Ramayana upsurge, Nitesh Tiwari’s much awaited Ramayana part one is now seeing a new spurt on bookings ahead of its global release. We had done a great job in the presale and numbers had started to diminish. But the hype building around the film’s L.A. debut has tremendously improved its overseas advance sales. The movie is also on the rise in India, and movie rentals are slowly being announced in a few Hindi and English versions.

Ramayana Advance Booking Collection in India

Advance bookings for the dance drama Ramayana have started on Dussehra, 15 days prior to its worldwide release. The movie had grossed Rs 15 crore in India so far by booking 2.75 lakh tickets in advance by November 29.

However, the Hindi version actually took charge of pre-sales initially making almost all the collection. It still holds an 83% share of bookings done in advance, and has been opened at over 1,600 screens in India.

But the interest in Kannada version as well as a Telugu version was gaining ground as well. The Kannada version, which is being shown in less than 100 screens, has also crossed the Rs 2 crore mark and on some of the screens, occupancy was as high as 80% for the morning screenings.

Advance tickets for the Telugu edition have already reached the figure of more than Rs 50 lakh but they’re on offer in just about 20 theatres. In Tamil, it has opened in about 12 screens in the past 48 hours, with total ticket sale of less than Rs 2 lakh and has grossed less than Rs 4 lakh.

Ramayana Gets a Boost in Overseas Markets

The film is also doing well in advance booking in other countries and has further boosted the statistics for advance booking. Ramayana will have paid previews in North America the day before its release on November 4.

The box-office takings of these previews rose 27% in 24 hours from LAX to $631,000 to $800,000, which Sacnilk calls a “reasonable amount.”

Sitting on top of that the film has made $500,000 in pre-sales dates around the world on release day.

These figures put the advance-booking gross for Ramayana at ₹25 crore worldwide by October 29, a week before its opening. With the uplift of bookings from all language versions, the pre-sales are anticipated to get further momentum in the film.
