Chhattisgarh government schools’ principal of Balrampur district Friday Wednesday’s post on the conviction of rapist and self-styled godman Asaram has been sacked for booklets as school students in the area were handed out, officials said on Thursday.
According to parents, the booklets were reportedly given to the young and vigilant middle school children of the Swami Atmanand Government English Medum Scool in Excellence, Raghunathpur village, on the 26th of October.
Education Department Orders Inquiry
After the incident, the Block Education Officer had to inquire into the issue and provide a report, Balrampur District Education Officer Narendra Nirapure told.
The preliminary findings led to the removal of Mahesh Prajapati, the school’s principal, says Nirapure. The immediate cause of distribution is still under investigation, he added, although sayers believe a fake has been created.
There has been no official explanation yet given of the findings of the inquiry nor why the booklets were given to the students.
Parents Raise Objections
Parents say that they were notified when their children brought home the booklets. Parents of students in the government school made a formal complaint to the education department as they were concerned about the material supplied to the school.
The complaint prompted the authorities to take a look at the incident and took action against the principal based on the preliminary findings.
An investigation with the education department will clarify the circumstances surrounding the distribution of the booklets to the students and whether any other people had say in the decision.
This concern points to a dialogue about what parents are seeing in educational settings and it’s role in providing appropriate materials to students.
Additional measures will be taken after the inquiry is finished and the department examines its conclusions.
