India opener Abhishek Sharma has reclaimed the top spot in the latest ICC Men’s T20I batter rankings following his explosive century against New Zealand on Monday. Meanwhile, South Africa’s Marco Jansen has achieved a double milestone by becoming the world’s No.1 Test bowler and Test all-rounder.

The fourth century of his T20I career saw Abhishek open his account against NZ hosts to pack in 113 runs off 38 deliveries in the third T20I. He has also scored 29 and 27 runs in the five-match series so far.

Abhishek Overtakes Ishan Kishan

The ICC’s updated list, issued on Wednesday, has Abhishek at 897 rating points in front of Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan, at 883 points.

Ishan Kishan, who had the top rank, has slipped down to third place in the rankings following missing both the second and third series of tests. India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer has also slipped five places to ninth.

The ICC said Kishan had replaced Abhishek in the top spot for July this year and Abhishek had replaced Australia’s Travis Head there in July 2025.

Marco Jansen Achieves Test Rankings Double

The performance in the first two Tests against Australia have also been terrific for Jansen. The South African all-rounder was very useful in scoring runs and also proved to be helpful with the ball!

He added 876 rating points after jumping 5 spots to take the top spot in the Test bowling rankings. India’s Jasprit Bumrah features among the top five bowlers.

Ravindra Jadeja is now trailing India all-rounder Jansen, who has now become No1 Test all-rounder, while Ravindra has become No2.

Including top performances by domestic and international cricketers, the latest rankings show some outstanding acts.
