US President Donald Trump vowed to honor the outcome of the midterm elections if they were fair, adding that he was prepared to use his veto if he needed to.
In an interview with reporters before the November 3 elections, Trump discussed doubts about the integrity of the elections and the close race for control of Congress.
“As long as there’s a way out. I have a veto on that, and I’m hoping I’m not! I hope I am not because it’s happened before!” I’ll do what I’ll do, if they are honest elections,” Trump stated.
Trump Intensifies Election Integrity Push
The President’s comments are in response to a newfound emphasis on voter fraud ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. The outcome of the elections for both houses of the U.S. Congress and may play a significant role in shaping his political agenda for the rest of his time in office.
Previously, Trump promised a “million dollar reward” for voter fraud involving any past elections or the midterm one that is actionable and can be captured and convicted.
Trump spoke of this on Truth Social, promising the payment to those who reported the fraud “when the ones who carried it out will be arrested and convicted.
The announcement is part of an ongoing campaign of his to bring election integrity to all their attention but actions of voter fraud must be proven and verified.
Congress Control at Stake
All 435 seats in the US House of Representatives will be up for grabs in the November 3 election, with about one-third of Senate seats also in play.
The result will affect the political landscape in Washington and how much the administration has for implementation of policy.
The elections are set to be closely watched nationally as control of Congress is on the balance.
