“I felt I was having a heart attack. It was only later at the hospital that I got to know I had been hit by a bullet when the attackers opened fire at the actor’s car,” said blogger Umesh Chauhan, who was filming Tiger Shroff as he was leaving the football club in Mumbai on Sunday evening during an attack on the actor.

The 36-year-old actor, dressed in a muscle tee and seated in the front, was waving at his fans through the rolled-up car windows when the shots were fired. A man in front, holding a gun supported by both hands, fired at the car, as seen in the video. Another man wearing a cap was seen firing from the side, while a man was stationed right there on a bike, ready to flee with the two accomplices.

“That day, Tiger Shroff was leaving after playing, and it was around 7 pm. As his vehicle exited the gate, I was standing right next to where Tiger Shroff was seated, recording a video. Suddenly, there was a loud noise — it sounded as if a tyre had burst. Immediately after that, I began to feel an intense pain in my chest,” Chauhan, a vlogger, said.

“I started shouting, pleading with everyone for help — saying that I had pain in my chest, telling them I couldn’t breathe. I didn’t know I had been shot; I only discovered that after I reached Cooper Hospital,” he said.

He was later visited by the actor’s mother, who assured him of all support. He received initial treatment and stabilisation at Cooper Hospital in Juhu before being transferred to the civic-run KEM Hospital for specialised care.

Since 18 years, Umesh Kumar lived in Mumbai, selling detergent door to door to support his family. In an attempt to pursue his dreams of filming Bollywood celebrities, the 35-year-old has spent the past one and a half years shooting vlogs about them, their whereabouts, and the fans who gather outside their houses, hoping to build an audience online.
