The BJP’s functionary in the Rampura area of Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh was allegedly killed by some unidentified persons, leading to anger among some members of the family and supporters of the party. Saheb Ram Chauhan, the deceased, was the Social Media in-charge of the BJP’s Sewri Dham Mandal.
The information in the hands of police indicates the two unknown men arrived on motorcycles during late night to allegedly attack Chauhan. Firemen said they sprayed several shots at the men trying to break into the house, causing commotion but sending them running away.
National Highway Family and Supporters Block
Information about the death of Chauhan led to protests, with his family members and supporters requesting the prompt registration of the cases against those involved and severe punishment.
Over 200 protesters took to the streets and staged a road blockade at the outskirts of the village of Bhikangaon outside the Bhikangaon police station and brought traffic to a standstill and formed long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road.
The police were notified of the incident and arrived on the scene. Senior officers and In charge police station were on the stage for managing situation and nowconvincing protesters to reopen traffic.
Police officials reportedly had told the demonstrators that the investigation of the suspects was underway and their arrest was pursuant.
Police Begin Investigation
Chauhan had been rushed to the government hospital in Bhikangaon and a post-mortem was underway there, and medical supervision was being maintained.
Police are analyzing a video shot from the vicinity to look for evidence and the identities of the people who did it. Several teams have also been deployed to look for the suspects.
