Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Shri Vinayak Mandir in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi on Wednesday and dedicated himself to prayers, as he had just completed 25 years as the head of the government.
To commemorate this milestone, Modi conducted prayers and rituals at the temple and took prayers from people across the country for their welfare. He posted on X that he prayed for the happiness, prosperity and good health of citizens and the continued progress of the nation.
The Prime Minister is celebrating a 25-year tenure as a head of government after him on October 7. His ascent in the promotions ladder of the top executive post started when he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on 7 October, 2001. He was elevated to PM in May 2014, after serving as the CM of Gujarat till May 2014.
The Union Cabinet had earlier passed a resolution on Tuesday on the occasion of Modi completing 25 years of uninterrupted leadership at the helm of the Government. The resolution spanned his period as Chief Minister of Gujarat and his stint as Prime Minister.
The 25 years milestone of Modi has also been celebrated in the country with programmes and events organized by the BJP. The party had announced programmes under its Seva Sankalp Abhiyan which will be observed on the occasion.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also congratulated Modi on achieving this milestone. The event, Yogi wrote in a post on X, was a moment of joy and he noted that Modi has “also been talking about serving the nation and Nation First.”
The Prime Minister’s visit to a temple this Monday coincided with his 25th anniversary as head of the government. During these 25 years not only has he led the state of Gujarat, but has also served as Prime Minister of India for over a dozen years.
