Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is having a blockbuster first weekend after clocking Rs 114 crore in just two days, with Sunday shaping up to be its biggest day yet.
After crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in just two days, the mystery drama has added a strong Sunday on top. It earned around Rs 62 crore net on Friday and an estimated Rs 53.50 crore on Saturday, a dip of roughly 13.7 per cent, taking the two-day total to Rs 115.50 crore.
Sunday has bounced back. As per analysts’ live estimates, the film earned Rs 34.10 crore net for the day, with shows still running and occupancy around 54 per cent. That lifts the India net total to Rs 149.60 crore, and the count is still going up. Advance booking for the day was healthy too, with the film grossing over Rs 26 crore from pre-sales, about 20 per cent above Saturday’s advances.
Media houses expect Sunday to finish between Rs 63 and Rs 66 crore net. If that holds, it would be the film’s best day so far and one of the biggest first Sundays in Bollywood history, and the opening weekend could land between Rs 178 and Rs 182 crore in India.
Overseas business has been steady as well. The worldwide gross was Rs 177.10 crore after Saturday, including Rs 38.50 crore from international markets, so a global Rs 200 crore mark looks well within reach.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film brings the Hindi franchise to a close, with Devgn back as Vijay Salgaonkar. Early audience reactions have praised Devgn, Jaideep Ahlawat and the climax.
