India fell short of 107 medals against the total achieved in Hangzhou. At Aichi-Nagoya, the Indian contingent clinched 85 medals, 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze, placing fourth on the table.

The final days produced some memorable moments. The men’s cricket team defeated Pakistan by 19 runs after posting 211/6, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 61 and Tilak Varma an unbeaten 51 off 22 balls. The men’s hockey team then beat Malaysia 5-1 to retain the title and secure the LA 2028 Olympic quota.

Elsewhere, India clinched its first individual recurve gold through Kumkum Anil Mohod. The women’s recurve team ended South Korea’s 28-year dominance. Lovlina Borgohain became only the second Indian woman after Mary Kom to win Asian Games boxing gold, and Pranavi Urs gave India its first-ever golf gold.

With no Indian events left, today is a send-off, with cultural performances and the Games flame being extinguished.
