Natives of Sheopur have been terrified as two cheetahs from Kuno National Park entered a village and killed a cow. The incident was reported from Tiktoli village in the Sisai Pura area, where the villagers spotted the cheetahs, sending a wave of fear across the residents.
As per sources, the two cheetahs in Sheopur came out of Kuno National Park and entered the limits of Tiktoli village. After reaching the village, they reportedly attacked a cow and killed it. Villagers around the vicinity of Kuno National Park have raised concerns over cheetah attacks, as they could move into the housing facilities.
In view of the incident, a team from the forest department immediately reached the spot. Officials started monitoring the movement of the Kuno National Park cheetahs and began efforts to track their location. A close eye is being kept on the big cats, officials said, urging villagers to remain alert and avoid going near the fields in Tiktoli village. The forest department is also tracking the route taken by the cheetahs to enter the village with the help of the cow killed by them.
Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh is home to African cheetahs brought under the cheetah reintroduction project. Following the latest cheetah news, forest officials have also increased surveillance around the Tiktoli village. Their main aim is to move the cheetahs safely into their habitats without causing harm to them or local residents.
