The health department in Chhattisgarh had released reliable data that shows a positive trend for the spread of the swine flu virus (H1N1) with 130 people getting diagnosed between January.
So far a total of 31 patients have been registered for treatment and 99 patients are recovering. However the health department has not been reporting any swine flu deaths in the state yet, a welcome relief in the light of the increasing number of infections.
Raipur has witnessed the maximum number of cases, with the recent test positivity of three cases of the infected. The district has now confirmed 60 positive patients, with about 11 patients still contagious.
Some other districts like Durg, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Dhamtari, Korba, Bemetara and Mahasamund are also affected with swine flu. The infection was detected in 19 districts of Chhattisgarh and now there are 19 districts with active cases in the state, health officials said.
The health department has enhanced its testing and treatment protocols and surveillance efforts throughout districts where no cases of H1N1 have been detected.
The Chhattisgarh authorities are closely observing the situation, and the number of new cases is being tracked to stop the spread. Residents are also warned to stay vigilant, especially if they begin to experience symptoms related to flu.
The health department is continuing to focus on early detection as well as prompt and timely treatment and monitoring of active patients, with 99 patients already having recovered and no deaths reported cases.
The authorities are warned to strict vigilance in wake of new cases being reported in various corners of the state.
