Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Sunday urged the countries in the West Asia to unite against their enemy.
In a written message issued six months ago, Khamenei had called on the countries to recognize their real enemy, understand its plan and confront it, while referring to the United States and Israel.
He said the solutions to challenges faced by Islamic nations lie in friendship and cooperation.
Khamenei took charge of the country as the supreme leader following the death of his father Ali Khamenei, who was killed at the start of the war by the U.S.-Israeli strike.
He has so far not made any public appearances since his appointment, and authorities have not released any video or audio of him. However, Mojtaba has time to time released written statements, which have been aired on Iran’s state television.
During the conflict, Tehran carried out retaliatory strikes on its neighboring Gulf countries, claiming that the U.S. bases in these countries were being used for the attacks on it.
Iran targeted the U.S. military bases across the Middle East, especially in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, leading to deterioration of ties.
