In view of the recent technical glitches at a Jaipur examination centre on Sunday, the NEET PG 2026 examination has been rescheduled to September 5 for affected candidates.
According to a notice issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and agency sources, the examination at iON Digital Zone, Sitapura 2, Jaipur, will be reconducted for all candidates allotted to the centre.
As many as 300 candidates were scheduled to appear for the examination at the centre. Agency sources said that further details regarding the rescheduled examination, including new admit cards, examination timings and other arrangements, will be communicated separately to the affected students.
The development comes after a power outage was reported at two iON Digital centres in Sitapura during the NEET PG examination on Sunday.
The exam-conducting body expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the affected candidates.
According to a news agency report, several candidates alleged that the examination started late and that computer systems repeatedly shut down after the test began.
Some candidates claimed that their systems went down six to seven times during the examination, while others alleged that disruptions occurred even more frequently. They said that after the systems restarted, only a few questions appeared on some computers before the systems went down again.
Several candidates reportedly left the examination centre amid the disruption and staged a protest over the technical arrangements. They also raised concerns whether the technical failures could affect the fairness of the examination and demanded an impartial inquiry.
Police and administration officials immediately reached the site following the protest.
ACP Jaipur South Lalit Sharma said that police personnel were deployed at the spot to maintain law and order amid the commotion.
The NEET PG 2026 examination commenced across the country on Sunday, with more than 2.73 lakh medical graduates appearing for the postgraduate medical entrance examination at designated centres.
