Despite huge day one colossal collections, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups starring the actor Yash has seen further drops in its collections figures at the box office. Geetu Mohandas’ directorial, which has recorded 29.3% decrease from its previous day’s collection, had made Rs 26.60 crore on Friday, as per the trade tracker.
The latest figure Toxic has netted in India is a whopping Rs 165.35 crore and in India, the gross is at a grand figure of Rs 197.70 crore. As of now the film has reportedly grossed Rs 221.45 crore globally.
On Friday, the Kannada version made 36.12% occupancy while the Hindi version made 26.75% occupancy. Though its numbers opened Sunday in decline from that day, the film has been picking up viewers in various markets since.
Toxic has released in India on August 26 with Rs 101.10 crore net collections at movies, the results of which were very impressive. But the movie saw a setback following its blockbuster launch. On par with its polarizing reviews, it has raised split audience reactions.
Yet though the answer, Yash has garnered praise from a couple of industry figures with his refusal to go with “business suits” as a plot. Actor Kichcha Sudeep commended the film and Yash for going off the beaten-track and not producing another predictable sequel to the blockbuster of his last film.
Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas is a period gangster film starring Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi.
The movie will now turn to cementing the hits in the following few days, and make some use of the weekend crowd.
