On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, where he met with leaders of both nations, with the purpose of developing a solid strategic partnership and cooperation across Central Asia.
The Prime Minister will be invited to headmaster Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s two-day visit to Tashkent, and will then visit Turkmenistan. As a part of his visit, Modi will meet the Uzbek President who will hold discussions on joint cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, digital connectivity, defence and energy.
India and Uzbekistan now have established a strategic partnership and has been moving forward in that direction in the last few years, said PM Modi, who added that he wanted to broaden the cooperation between the two countries. He additionally underlined the shared visions of Viksit Bharat and Yangi Uzbekistan.
Modi will pay a visit to Shastri Memorial and Mahatma Gandhi Centre at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies in the framework of his Tashkent agenda. The visits are a testament to the mutual cultural and people-to-people relations between India and Uzbekistan, he said.
Modi will be on his fourth Uzbekistan visit. He has previously done visits to unity related meetings in 2015, along with trips in 2016 and 2022 for the Summits of the SCO.
Following the bilateral leg in Uzbekistan, Modi will visit Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where he will be attending the 26th SCO Summit, invited by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
Modi will highlight the economic opportunities, regional connectivity, and security to strengthen the partnership between the two continents.As an active member country of the SCO, India seeks to highlight issues relating to security, connectivity, and economic opportunities to bolster bilateral cooperation between the two continents. He also will appeal for collective action on issues of “separatism, extremism, and terrorism.
The Prime Minister will also meet even withloquires SCO leaders, attend the 6th World Nomad Games opening ceremony.
