Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei has said that Tehran is drafting a list of conditions to open the Strait of Hormuz in response to mediator requests, adding that the US must first take practical steps to fulfill these demands before the waterway reopens.
The United States claims that its forces have de-mined Iranian mines from the Strait of Hormuz but with some skepticism among US allies indicating that the critical water route is yet to be secured.
Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held meetings in Tehran to discuss key issues, including the future of the Strait of Hormuz, amid international hopes that dialogue between the US and Iran on ending the war will resume. The meeting came against the backdrop of sewered conversations between US and Iran. Qatar has been actively participating as a mediator since talks on truce first began.
Meanwhile, Iran issued frsh warnings to Israel and the US if it continues blockade. The security chief has threatened sever confrontation to both the nation vowing attacks on the economic interests of the west nation in its region.
Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, said Tehran would “send Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, to hell” if tensions escalate again.
“We will send Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, to hell,” Rezaei said, according to Iranian state news agency, in an interview .
He claimed Netanyahu’s actions had brought the “end of the Zionist regime’s existence near” and accused the Israeli prime minister of spreading false information about an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate US President Donald Trump’s son.
Speaking about renewed conflicts in Lebanon, Rezaei said, “We are monitoring the situation with full seriousness. Israel will be forced to withdraw from the occupied territories in Lebanon. If the conflict resumes, we are preparing ourselves for a new phase; any future war will be different from the previous ones”.
Israeli forces have carried out a massive bombing in the town of al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon at dawn, according to the country’s National News Agency. NNA added that Israeli artillery shelling and machine-gun fire targeted the town of Houla and the Wadi al-Salouqi valley this morning.
