Yash-starrer Toxic is already attracting huge hopes for a theatrical release, and the action thriller created a good impression with the initial bookings. The movie reportedly selling less than 2.6 lakh tickets within a few hours of advance sales were made has already made around Rs 19.44 crore from advance sale, including booked tickets.
According to the reports, Toxic has sold approximately Rs 11.74 crore gross on advance booking sales, only on Day 1 in India. The Kannada version is currently the most sold one while Hindi version has given good boy booms as well.
Rather around Rs 7.72 crore was booked in advance on Kannada language version, Rs 3.86 crore on the Hindi version, with remaining amount on the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions of the movie.
Karnataka has turned into the biggest market for the Yash-starrer. The Calcutta actor’s own state has reportedly had a part in the film’s opening-day advance bookings, with their fans being keen on the film.
The film is also being talked about due to its “adult material” content. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given Toxic an ‘A’ rating, meaning that the film will be available for adults only in India.
In the UK, the film has reportedly received an 18 rating from the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). Themes and content regarding threats, drugs, sexual violence and self-harm, as well as violence, sex and injury appear to be part of the certification.
Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas and stars directed actors Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The movie will hit theatres this August 26.
