Looking forward to Day 4 of the BWF World Championships 2026 in New Delhi, Ayush Shetty, PV Sindhu and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty are some of the key names on India’s smashing lineup that will aim to maintain its winning streak.

The 21-year-old Ayush Shetty will be one of the main highlights as he faces Indonesian 11th seed Alfie Farhan in the men’s singles Round of 16. Shetty has already faced another of the tournament’s best upsets by beating world No. 1 Shi Yuqi in the first round, before winning the pre-quarterfinals clash against world No. 4 Krunali Kola.

Former world No. 1 PV Sindhu will also aim to book her place in the quarterfinals when she faces China’s Wang Zhi Yi in the women’s singles Round of 16. Sindhu advanced to the pre-quarter-finals where she faced Canada’s Wen Yu Zhang in straight sets.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, men’s doubles fifth seeds, will finally get to the court after having received walkovers in their first two games. The inevitable pair, Arun Reddy and Prasad, have qualified for the round of 16 following some Australian’s withdrawal from the second round clash.The pairing of Arun Reddy and Prasad, who advanced by the bye after the Scottish duo withdrew, were the ones likely to advance in the event of any withdrawal.

After a gap of 17 years, the World Championships are back in New Delhi at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium from August 17 to 23.

The addition of home support will enable Shetty and Sindhu, and the Satwik-Chirag duo to build their chances and put together successful form ahead of a deep run in the tournament.
