There has been a significant development at the Varwai Kheda Toll Plaza over the Indore-Betul National Highway in Khategaon, Madhya Pradesh, after all the courts directed the attachment of this Toll Plaza in case of non-receipt of dues to 14 farmers.
The farmers reportedly received Rs 9.73 crore, according to reports. If the sum was not paid then the suffering farmers went to court to seek justice. The court then issued an order to attach the Varwai Kheda toll plaza.
An attachment warrant was reportedly issued about 15 – 20 days ago, sources said. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), however, hasn’t been seen to give response yet on the issue.
The farmers are now awaiting the next development in the case. If the balance of debt is not settled by Wednesday evening, then authorities could go through with the toll plaza, information available states.
It is also reported that the toll collection at the plant will continue to be suspended until further orders are passed by the court in this regard. The farmers concerned have been filing cases for payment and the development has raised concerns for them.
Rajkumar Yadav, Navneet Yadav, Abhimanyu Tanwar and Lalit Gurjar represented the case.
The issue is still under legal deliberation and further action will be based on the directives issued by the court and actions taken by the relevant authorities. Without the payment, the proceedings for the attachment against the toll plaza may continue.
