In a recent development which comes as a concern to Oman, US President Donald Trump on Monday has threatened to attack the country if it gets in the way of American blockade of Iranian ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

In an interview with local media Trump said that if Oman gets in way, we’ll bomb the shit out of them. He added that the U.S. military’s naval blockade is putting pressure in Iran and that he has no timeline for when the conflict would get over.

His remarks followed a post on Truth Social addressing Iran’s possession of nuclear weapon as the 60-day ceasefire ended today. The post read, “The number one goal is always and will be that Iran cannot have in any way, shape or form a nuclear weapon.” The development comes as the 60-day ceasefire deal which included a memorandum of understanding to discuss the trading route through the strategic Strait of Hormuz and Tehran’s nuclear program comes to an end on Monday. And there seems no closure on the negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.

The deal which apparently paved a way for the final deal to end the war within 60 days, comes to an end today. It required both the sides to agree on the disposal of Iran’s enriched uranium. However, over the past two months, both the sides have accused each other of violating the agreement.

A 14-point framework which was brokered by Pakistan and other Gulf nations, was signed by Iranian President Mahmoud Pezeshkian and President Trump on June 17. The framework, which called for a halt to all the military operations and spoke of roadmap to resolving American and Israeli fears over Iran’s nuclear program, have been stalled for a long time now.

A week after the deal was signed, Iran fired on ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz by travelling along the coast of Oman. As per reports, the route was supposed to be guarded by the U.S. Navy and was meant to bypass Tehran’s control of Strait. U.S. in retaliation attacked the Islamic Republic state, which in turn returned fire by attacking Arab countries hosting American forces like Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain.
