A polarisation has opened up over the grave of the national anthem Vande Mataram, as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bides time to organise a candle march against the Congress in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav lashed out at it as a disrespect to Vande Mataram and has urged that senior Congress leaders, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi, should apologize to the nation.
Any “disrespect” of the national song was “condemnable,” as the freedom fighters sang the tune while sacrificing to make India free, Yadav told reporters in this city.
BJP has organised a candle march as a protest. Protests will start at 6 pm from Red Cross Hospital and proceed towards Red Noch, close to the Congress state headquarters, where members of the BJP will be present.
That will be done as part of a plan by the party, with around 100 members from each one of the party’s various front organisations taking part in the protest. The BJP are aiming to push the Congress on the issue of Vande Mataram with this demonstration.
The whole buzz began during an Independence Day programme organized at the Congress chairman’s office on August 15. A clip of Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi, who is reportedly changing her stance while addressing Vande Mataram as the party seems to be walking in, was viral on social media.
The video then sparked a political row as the BJP alleged that the actions of Sonia Gandhi and the Congress leaders were “disrespect” to the national song.
Calling the Congress “sleeping beauty” in today’s obituary, the BJP has unleashed a attack on the Congress and the Gandhi family since the incident, deepening the political debate in the state.
As per the reports the proposed candle march is likely to further heat up between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress on the Vande Mataram and national symbols issue in Madhya Pradesh.
