Spider-Man: Brand New Day has turned another page, bringing home its above-par performances on the Indian box office with a gross of Rs 400 crore, just as it keeps its impressive tally of performance, thanks to its roll in other countries around the world.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film released in India on July 30, a day ahead of its worldwide release. Superhero blockbusters are getting a good reception, one of the biggest in Hollywood, this one in the country.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has earned Rs 400.80 crore gross in India. The total worldwide box office receipts for the film have already surpassed an impressive USD 1.188 billion; a feat that has made the film one of the most successful of the year.

Tom Holland reprises his role as Spider-Man aka Peter Parker, while Zendaya is Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson. Also starring in the movie are Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Krondon as Tombstone, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher and Michael Mando as Scorpion.

The tale is about Spider-Man and his encounter with a formidable new foe as he discovers an unexpected bodily change from the rigors of his superhero duties.

Producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are behind Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With this blockbusting aside, Tom Holland and Zendaya have also been seen together in Christopher Nolan’s pie-long The Odyssey, inspired by the epic journey of the Greek king Odysseus after the Trojan War.
