Aditi Sharma, a TV actress who has starred in films like Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udaan, Rabb Se Hai Dua and Kaleerein, has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband and the family.
A case of police was filed at Goregaon Police Station on July 31 against her husband Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, her mother-in-law Urmila Kaushik (65) and her sister-in-law Kirti Kaushik (29). An investigation into the allegations has been begun by the police.
The complaint alleges that Aditi has been physically and mentally harassed, the three committed domestic violence, assaulted, questioned her character and misused her stridhan (bridal jewellery).
The actress told the police in her statement that an online acting class she joined in June 2021 is where she came across Abhineet. The two became friends, and their relationship turned into a romance. They reportedly lived together in September 2024 and were finally married on November 12, 2024, with consent from both families.
Aditi claimed that her husband’s disposition started to alter in a couple of days after the marriage. She stated that there would often be disagreements over what she wore, as well as other minor issues, and that he regularly withdrew from her, rather than putting money towards the bills, at the same time.
Her complaint also alleges that a discussion on January 1, 2025, led to abusive behavior and that her husband began to suspect his wife’s character and that she was having an extramarital affair, frequently checking her phone, and began sleeping separately.
She also claimed that no efforts were made by anyone to let her talk to her family and that her mother-in-law did not return her wedding jewellery, which comprised gold ornaments, a diamond ring, bangles and a mangalsutra (inlay bracelet).
