After the team’s post-season review, Mumbai Indians (MI) have rebutted claims on their plans for the trade of Hardik Pandya to another Indian Premier League (IPL) club.
A spokesperson for Mumbai Indians clarified that after the season, the club is now assessing all aspects of the team, and has not started any trade talks with other clubs.
Reports to the effect that Pandya might make a move to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are misleading at this moment, the franchise stated.
The post-season evaluation continues and management will make appropriate evaluations after the post-season, according to spokesperson.
In recent times, the media had been speculating about a possible Mumbai Indians- Chennai Super Kings deal that could result in Pandya joining the club. MI had reportedly given the request for Ayush Mhatre and Shivam Dube, while CSK had come forward with the allure of Shivam Dube, Dewald Brevis, and an additional ₹10 crore.
There was also a report of the Indian all-rounder having been interested in signing with some other teams like Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Rajasthan Royals, all of which were interested in hiring the Indian batsman.
But Mumbai Indians have clarified that no trades are being considered and all will be based upon the outcome of the internal review.
There is an increasing speculation that Hardik Pandya could be looking to leave Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2025 season but even then he is regarded as one of the most sought-after all-rounders of the league.
