The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced two late changes to India’s squads for the upcoming ODI series against England and the T20I series against Zimbabwe after pacers Harshit Rana and spinner Varun Chakaravarthy were ruled out with hamstring injuries.

Prince Yadav has been drafted into the ODI squad for the England series, while Ravi Bishnoi has replaced Chakaravarthy in the T20I squad for Zimbabwe.

According to the BCCI, Harshit Rana experienced discomfort in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge.

Subsequent scans confirmed a Grade 1 hamstring injury, ruling him out of the upcoming ODI series. The fast bowler will now report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) for further assessment and rehabilitation.

His replacement, Prince Yadav, earned the selectors’ confidence after an impressive IPL 2026 campaign for Lucknow Super Giants. The young pacer also delivered encouraging performances during the recently concluded T20I series against England despite India’s winless tour.

Varun Chakaravarthy also sustained a hamstring injury during the third T20I against England.

The mystery spinner underwent an MRI scan, which revealed a Grade 2 injury to his left hamstring. Following medical advice, he has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe T20I series and will undergo treatment at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.

The selectors have named Ravi Bishnoi as his replacement for the five-match series.

Varun’s latest setback adds to a series of injury concerns since the conclusion of the 2026 T20 World Cup.

In an official statement, the BCCI said the Men’s Selection Committee had approved the inclusion of Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements.

The board added that both injured players will remain under the supervision of the medical team at the Centre of Excellence for further management.
