Morocco’s heart-wrenching World Cup 2026 quarter-final losing run was met by tears and an emotional video of actor/dancer Nora Fatehi, which soon went viral on social media platforms.

Nora, who wore the Moroccan jersey, enthusiastically supported the team in the stands before running off after the end of the match. The surrounding crowd was seen supporting their beloved actress as she seemed to be having trouble holding back her tears in the wake of Morocco’s loss.

Nora has had an intimate relationship with the FIFA World Cup this year. On 12th June, she participated in the grand opening ceremony of the tournament with the official World Cup song by French singer Vegedream, who was also accompanied by music producer Sunjoy. The song is part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 official 18-song album and has already got over 58 million views. It speaks of a sort of fusion of Indian, Moroccan and Canadian musical influences.

Earlier, Nora also recounted the flood of support she got from the football fans gathered here in Dallas, particularly from Indian supporters cheering for Morocco. She revealed that the love from fans truly touched her heart and was an interesting and unforgettable experience.

Nora has said the World Cup was the greatest moment of her life, and that seeing it live was a lot more special than watching it on TV. She explained that being part of the stadium and playing for her country of Morocco on a stage that she thinks is world-class is a privilege she’ll never forget and always be proud of passing to her future kids.

Even though Morocco were eliminated from the tournament in the quarterfinals, Nora showed her emotion and love for the sport, demonstrating her bond with the team.
