Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has announced he will be a part of the star-studded lineup for the halftime show of the FIFA World Cup 2026 that will be the first-ever Super Bowl-style entertainment spectacle in the tournament.

The 11-minute halftime show will be attended by an impressive list that includes Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus (with Coldplay) and Sesame Street characters during the FIFA World Cup final on July 19 in New York. The show has been organised by Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin with the goal of raising USD 100 million for an education around the world through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

Talking about the event, Justin Bieber said that the FIFA World cup brought people together more than any other sporting event. It’s also the singer’s next big live performance on his extended hiatus from touring because of health concerns following the return to Coachella earlier this year.

Also, Shakira and Burna Boy, the duo behind the official song for the tournament ‘Dai Dai’ – one of the biggest songs for the tournament – will be back.

In the meantime, the FIFA World Cup is currently in the quarter final rounds with France, Morocco, Spain, Belgium, Norway, England, Argentina and Switzerland still competing. Argentina captain Lionel Messi is currently in the lead in the Golden Boot race, seeking to hit the eight-goal mark as well as Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland with seven each, Harry Kane has six while Neymar has five.
