Government employees are getting relief in Madhya Pradesh as the government has initiated the long pending promotion process after more than 10 years by virtue of the announcement by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Mohan Yadav. This is expected to be on the beneficial side for lakhs of eligible officers and workers of both the government departments.

Government officials were invited and they showed their appreciation to the developer on Tuesday when the chief minister reached the state secretariat prior to Cabinet meeting. He was welcomed by bouquets and traditional drum music from the employees who thanked the government for its efforts to revive the hanging promotion process.

The interaction was attended by their representatives from the Ministry Employees Association, the Employees Welfare Committee and AJKS. The unions, in their appreciation of the move, also called on the chief minister to start the promotion process in departments in which it has not started.

Taking the initiative, Dr. Yadav had assured all eligible officials and employees they will be promoted according to the rules as and when indicated. He restated that none of the deserving employees can be wrong and the State Government still pays attention to employees’ welfare.

The chief minister added it had been one of his priorities since he took office to improve the welfare conditions of government employees. Following the reopening of promotions should fulfill an administrative and legal process that had languished for nearly 10 years due to an array of obstacles.

The party feels the step will help to raise the morale among the employees and will also help in improving the speed of administration by filling up some of the more higher level posts that have remained vacant for several years. Departments are to initiate in a phased manner the process for promotion as guided by the government.
