The mere allegation of “road rage” has come up in Bengaluru in a virulently shocking incident where a family on a car was allegedly attacked by a group of men after their car was stopped while on the Bangalore-Mysuru expressway. A dashcam that was mounted to a vehicle following the accident recorded the whole scene and it has been uploaded on social media platforms worldwide.

The family was driving a Maruti Alto, the viral video clip showed. They were a male, a female, children and an older lady. In the video, which runs for 52 seconds, the Alto comes to a halt on the Bengaluru expressway before multiple men suddenly emerge and move towards the Alto.

The attackers are claiming to shout at the driver before attempting to break the driver’s door open and attacking the driver. Randomly out of the car, the men reportedly furiously divide the driver and proceed with other forms of assault.

The video also portrays a woman from the Alto stepping in in an apparent attempt to protect the driver with an occupant of another vehicle seen approaching the scene in an apparent attempt to intervene and stop the attack.

The disturbing images have raised concern on the internet and many are calling for firest actions to be taken against the ones behind it.

The Bengaluru Police have not issued any official statements so far in regard to the incident. Police have not established details of the alleged assault or if anyone has been arrested.

The motive behind the attack is likely to be the subject of an investigation and authorities will be looking at the viral video taken by the driver’s cameras on the dash.
