In a fresh update regarding NEET UG examination, the NTA has asked all students to confirm their bank account details on the portal for the refund. As per the data recorded so far only 8,29,510 students have updated or confirmed their bank account details. The agency had warned that those who paid might miss their refund if they fail to do the needful before the deadline that is July 7 at 11:50pm.
According to the NTA, refund processing has already commenced for candidates who have successfully submitted and confirmed their bank account details. Those who update their information before the deadline will be considered in the next round of refund disbursements.
After the alleged paper leak on May 3rd, the exam was cancelled and a huge controversy erupted around the national entrance test for medicine. NTA later on June 21 re-conducted the exam for more than 20 lakh students. Several suicides were also reported as the Re-exam took a toll on the mental health of the students.
On June 25, the NTA released a provisional answer key allowing changes till June 28. Students were allowed to raise objections with a fee of Rs 200 per question, refundable if correct. Officials said nearly 10,000 challenges were received, and each will be reviewed as per standard verification protocol. As per updates by the exam conducting body, the final results will be released by July 20th. Based on the last year trends, the NTA normally takes 45 days to release the results. The results for the re-exam can be checked at neet.nta.nic.in, once they are released.
