PM Narendra Modi on Monday wished the 14th Dalai Lama on the occasion of his 91st birthday. Taking to X, PM Modi in a post highlighted the universal resonance of the Tibetan spiritual leader’s teachings and his profound moral influence on the international stage.

Warm birthday greetings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. His message of peace and harmony has been a guiding force for people across the world. His moral and spiritual strength and his commitment to global good are commendable. Wishing him a long and healthy life,” PM Modi wrote.

The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), on behalf of the Tibetan diaspora, offered its heartfelt birthday greetings to the Dalai Lama, with sincere prayers for his continued good health, long life, and boundless compassion to benefit all sentient beings.

Union Minister of Road and Transport also extended greetings to the spiritual leader. Arunachal Pradesh CM took to X, exclaiming joy as he joined millions of devotees and well-wishers across the world in offering heartfelt greetings on the joyous occasion. ‘To the living embodiment of Chenrezig, whose life is a beacon of compassion, wisdom and peace of all humanity, he said.’

Tibetan Buddhist monks in exile along with some residents gathered at the Dorje Drak Monastery in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, to offer special prayers and participate in religious rituals dedicating the day to the longevity and global message of their spiritual leader. In a separate event, visuals from Tsuglagkhang temple in McLeod Ganj, a small and quaint hill station in the suburbs of the northern hill town of Dharamsala showed huge gathering at the small hill station to join the celebrations.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang also took to X to extend greetings. “On this blessed and deeply auspicious occasion, we offer our sincere prayers for His Holiness’ continued good health, long life, boundless happiness, and enduring peace. On behalf of the people of Sikkim and on my own behalf, I humbly pray that His Holiness continues to illuminate humanity with the timeless values of compassion, wisdom, peace, and non-violence, inspiring generations to come,” he added.
