A ranger from Barwani distirct was taken into custody following a complaint by a 26-year-old woman who accused him of rape following a broken marriage promise. The case is registered at Indore’s Azad Nagar police station.
The accused, identified as Ajay Solanki, son of Ashok Solanki, hails from Vajhar village in Julwania, Barwani district, and is currently undergoing ranger training in Maharashtra. According to police, Ajay and the woman connected on Instagram ten months ago and gradually grew close over regular conversations on the platform.
Few months later, Ajay as per details given in by the victim had taken her to a hotel in Azad nagar area during his visit to Indore where the two became physically involved — allegedly on the assurance that he intended to marry her. However, when the woman later raised the subject of marriage, Ajay reportedly backed out.
Following which the families of both intervened however, failed to reach an agreement after which the victim filed a complaint against the ranger.
