The Agarwal family which is already mourning the loss of their young son suffers another grief as the family loses their head- Devichand Agarwal aged 71 who succumbed to the death news of his grandchild. Days after learning about the murder of his grandson, Devichand who was unable to overcome the emotional trauma passed away leaving the family mourning two generations in a span of two weeks.

The last rites of Devichand Agarwal were performed on Sunday. Interacting with the media, Ketan’s uncle Kuldeep Agarwal revealed that the impact of Ketan’s death proved too much for his father to bear.

“When my nephew passed away, it was such a massive shock to my father that he didn’t tell anyone for 13 days, not until his cremation was done. Two days later, his health deteriorated, and he passed away. Within 17 days, both left us,” Kuldeep said.

Deeply struck by the loss, family members have been demanding strict punishment for those responsible for Ketan’s death.

The high-profile case remains under intense public scrutiny as probe deepens. Investigators are carrying out crime scene recreations and seeking further forensic evidence in the case.

In a latest development, a court in Vadgaon Maval rejected the Pune Rural Police’s plea for further police custody, instead remanding the two prime accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, to 14 days of judicial custody.

Earlier, investigators found a Snapchat message allegedly sent by murder accused Siya Goyal, in which she told a friend that her marriage to Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal was not going to happen, police said.

The message was purportedly sent in May, weeks before Agarwal’s alleged murder, a police official said on Saturday. Goyal (20) and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary (22) were arrested last month on charges of murdering 25-year-old Agarwal by pushing him into a gorge at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18.
