Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced that India will tour Sri Lanka in August 2026 for a two-match Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle.

The series will be India maiden Test stint in Sri Lanka under the new World Test Championship format.

The first Test, according to the schedule released by SLC, has to take place at the Galle International Stadium from 15th to 19th August. The next test is the second and final one in Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) at Colombo from 23 to 27 August.

The two games will start at 10:00 AM ET.

Both sides are hoping to get top marks early in the World Test Championship cycle and therefore the series has the potential to become a defining moment for both sides.

Test cricket has historical significance between India and Sri Lanka and in the past several exciting series have been played in Sri Lanka. The upcoming series is expected to be again a fiercest of all competition between the two Asian rivals.
