Due to heavy rains, the Delhi Dehradun Expressway reportedly has got many potholes at various locations, which has caused a stir around the construction quality and safety for passengers.
Motorists also reported that there were several sections of the newly constructed Expressway which developed potholes during rain, and that sections were warned of their breaches to motorists.
The commuter said that his car hit a pothole causing major damage, including the bending of the alloy wheel.
The reports have prompted queries regarding the durability of the expressway that was constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 12,000 crore, and intended to cut down on the time taken to reach Dehradun from Delhi.
A series of videos and posts showing the supposed potholes have been shared on social media, calling for the potholes to be fixed and that the roads be investigated for the same to be patched to avoid accidents.
Police have not said if any damage has occurred or if commuters are claiming damages. This has once again raised the issue of poor road conditions and maintenance, especially during the rainy season.
