Following the exit of Rishabh Pant from Lucknow Super Giants, the situation has come to such a situation that the owner of the team, Sanjiv Goenka, has come under heat for his actions on social media for an old prediction that’s taken a back seat now.

Pant has now made his way back to the Delhi Capitals, following the record payday of bowlers in this year’s IPL 2025. In this high-profile trade, Pant is returning from LSG’s top charge for the money allocation of the IPL 2025 to play for the Delhi Capitals next season. It was a very demeaning two seasons at Lucknow that were not looking forward to this move.

Shortly after the announcement, Indians fans came out with an online video of Goenka welcoming Pant to franchise with great enthusiasm. The LSG owners in the video had stated that Pant would stay with the team for “14-15 years” and assist the team in capturing “at least five” IPL titles. The comments are now the subject of a mass trolling of social media.

The leadership at LSG was not as successful as it could have been for Pant. He scored 581 runs in 40 balls in two IPL seasons, and wasn’t able to recoup his hefty valuation. Lucknow, under his leadership, have been in the aforementioned spots as seventh team in IPL 2025 and at the bottom of the table in IPL 2026.

The feud between Pant and the franchise management surfaced during the 2026 season, mirroring the clashes that took place between KL Rahul and the team last year. Before he departed, Pant was replaced as captain.

Unsurprisingly, fans are now stirring up a controversy over LSG’s plans and returning Pant to the Delhi Capitals is just Goenka’s bold prediction coming back again for the unlikely.
