Homi Adajania directed Cocktail 2 continues to rule the box office at Day 3. The romcom released on June 19 manages to pull the audience to the theatres despite mixed reviews. The film is racing towards the Rs 100 crore club globally having minted Rs 76.25 crore gross in three days, as per reports.
The love triangle romcom collected Rs 17.75 crore on its third day after release bringing the total India gross collection to Rs 55.45 crore and net to Rs 47.50 crore. the lifetime haul of Shahid’s 2025 release Deva, which had collected a nett of ₹34.37 crore. Cocktail 2 is yet to cross the lifetime hail of the first Cocktail, which stands at ₹71 crore.
At the opening day, the Shahid Kapoor starrer managed to earn Rs 13.5 crore while it added Rs 16.25 the next day- big growth expected Saturday being weekend. With this the total collection for only 2 days remained at Rs 29.75 crore.
The standalone sequel to Cocktail made 14 years ago, Cocktail 2 is a story of Kunal (Shahid Kapoor) and Diya (Rashmika Mandanna) who are college sweethearts, love each other deeply, but aren’t sold on the institution of marriage. Their holiday in Sicily takes a turn when they bump into Ally (Kriti Sanon), Diya’s friend, who convinces them to scrap their itinerary and join her instead. Convinced that Kunal may be marrying her out of obligation rather than love, Diya pushes Ally to flirt with him and test his loyalty. The consequences form the rest of the story.
The movie is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, Pramita R Vijan and Ankur Garg. Pritam has composed the music, with lyrics primarily written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
