On Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made an unplanned and sudden stop at popular Maggi Point near Naya Raipur during his visit to the Chhattisgarh state before heading towards the airport after attending a Congress organisational training camp in the state.
Rahul Gandhi went to Raipur earlier on Sunday to attend the second day of the Congress party’s 10-day organization creation camp at Abhanpur. He met with Party Office-bearers and senior leaders, and shared ideas for further building the Party at the grassroots level during the Programme.
After the event, Gandhi went to Swami Vivekananda Airport. But his convoy suddenly stopped at Maggi point in the Naya Raipur area, where he had been enjoying tea and Maggi.
Suddenly stopping caught people at the place’s attention. A number of onlookers, as well as many photographers, packed the crowd around the Congress leader’s arrival, subsequently taking pictures of the event.
During the short visit, Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by a group of his senior Congress leaders. Congress In-Charge for Chhattisgarh Sachin Pilot and former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, state Congress president Deepak Baij and senior Congress leader T.S. Singhdeo were among those present.
The two leaders were seen together, convivially drinking tea and Maggi as they planned to go to the airport.
The Congress training camp in Abhanpur has been organised to boost the organisational structure of the Congress and build the capacities of the party workers and office bearers. The programme, it is hoped, is destined to become a significant opportunity for training the party’s grassroots organisation with a view towards addressing future political problems and election campaigns.
The required political engagement of Rahul Gandhi at the roadside eatery lent a light moment to a sea of political activity and garnered a lot of attention from party members and local residents.
